Monday Update

I know it has been a while since the last update.  Thanks for being patient!  I have lots of good great pictures to post!  Thank you to everyone for sending them.

Before that let me provide a quick update.  Dad had an overall good weekend with picking up Pima at the airport Friday, picking up his sister (Pam) on Saturday and seeing the McKnights.  We also celebrated a couple birthdays over the weekend.  On Sunday Dad was running a very high fever which is never taken lightly with cancer.  Luckily it came down early Monday morning and after some blood work he was cleared for chemotherapy.  He also had a chest x-ray Monday to rule out pneumonia or fluid in the lungs.  Although we haven't had our final results of the chest x-ray, the initial review looks very good and clear.  I am happy to say that dad is feeling quite well today and was very excited to pass some air in his windpipe (something he hasn't done in 4 weeks)!  This is a great sign!  We are anxious for him to have his PET CT tomorrow which will be compared to his initial scan in the hospital.  We will be able to measure his progress in the fight against this disease.  I am hopeful and praying to report good news.......  Either way he will finish his initial radiation treatments early next week and we will have his care transitioned completely to MD Anderson Cancer Center.  I want to send out a special thank you to 'Aunt Pam' for staying with mom and dad.  She has been very supportive and uplifting.  Thank You!

  3. You have truly inspired me. Most people who have this type of awful thing happen to them, get mad at God, become bitter. This is not the case with you. Offering only praise, and glory to our Lord, this is true whorship. Thank you for showing the world true faith. My prayers will be added to the many from your wonderful family and friends. I thank God for men like you, because it is thru men like you, God works his will. May God bless you, and your family.

  4. A prayer for all of us with loved ones facing tough hurdles in this earthly time:

Most Holy Apostle, St. Jude Thaddeus, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of his enemies has been forgotton by many. But the Church honors you, and I invoke you as the special advocate of those who are in trouble and almost without hope. Help me to realize that through our faith we triumph over life's difficulties by the power of Jesus who loved us and gave His life for us. Come to our assistance that we may receive the consolation and succor of heaven in all our needs, trials and sufferings, particularly for Steve and his family and for George and my family, and that I may praise God with you and all the saints forever. St. Jude, pray for us and for all who invoke your aid.
